The design for the Henna Scorpion draws on the mythology of ancient Egypt. The working title for the design was Selket. Sometimes called the 'Lady of the Beautiful House' Selket is the Scorpion Goddess of magic, she rules over both venom and healing. This design includes seven scorpions a reference to the story 'Isis and the Seven Scorpions'. Isis in the form of a Vulture hides within the pattern accompanied by her seven guardian scorpions. The pattern itself is Indo Persian in inspiration with hints of Egyptian.
