Welcome to the Spellstone gallery of hennaed drums. Henna is a natural plant dye that can be used to stain a goatskin drumhead. The henna is made into a dark brown coloured paste, when applied to a drumskin a stain forms underneath the paste. When the henna is removed a permanent red brown mark is left in the skin (see left). Many of the drums in this gallery are pictured with the paste on, images will be updated as the henna is removed.

The size of the drum head is indicated in the lower right corner of each photograph, all measures are in inches.
